Whenever anyone brings up the "glass half-full" / "glass half-empty" question, I always wonder "Why are those my only two choices?"

meanwhile, garblaundry(tm) begins...

I've always just thought it was a damn silly expression because it's quite easily explained. If someone poured water into a glass and stopped when the glass was half full, then it's half full. If there was a full glass of water that someone drank half of, then it's half empty. Why the existential angst over it?
