Whenever anyone brings up the "glass half-full" / "glass half-empty" question, I always wonder "Why are those my only two choices?"

don't have to - i just have to be able to pay the barkeep who's doing the pouring. some times we pay on credit, some times we pick up the tab for others so that some day they too can pay their tab and the tab of another.

the idea of my glass, acting in isolation of what filled it in the first place, and in isolation of what might fill it again, and certainly in isolation of the glasses of others, is something i simply will not fathom.
