It turns out that most of those boxes that are meant to be taking pictures of toll-booth-runners (especially in the smart-tag only lanes) are actually empty and thus people have been running through the booths with impunity?  they won't get filled with real cameras for a few months from now, and they actually said that on WTOP, thus inviting people to run the booths.

sheesh...when you have something that revealing and inviting to criminals, mr government man, do yourself a favor and keep your damn trap shut.

Yes we all have the right to freedom of speech...but WITH that right we HAVE a responsibility that the media has bastardized for decades.

I vote bringing the guiotine back for media screw-ups since NOTHING else seems to work, but the weak minded I speak to seem more supportive of the chaos, dishonesty and HARM the media does.

at 30-mph a boothie isn't able to read it fast enough and not also ignore their own toll line that's some 5-10 cars long and getting angrier.

at the main booths at rt 7, the smarttag lanes are on the far side, with 2 exact change only lanes in between them and the manned boths, and cars routinely go through at 50-60 mph. there's no way a booth teller is going to read a thing.

and at night, they're half unmanned anyways.

You'd think they'd be smart enough to at least move the available cameras around randomly... that's what Howard County did at least until recently (I'm thinking I heard that they've actually got as many cameras as boxes now).
