Because as a parasite your objective is to survive despite the fact that your presence is destroying the host organism. As a consequence you will do whatever it takes to keep the host organism ignorant of your presence, numb his pain, inject chemicals to induce euphoria. Anything.

The Religious Right are one of the parasites of this society. Unlike say a tapeworm, who's only objective is survival and do not really intend to hardm the host. The objective of the Religious Right is to destroy America and remake it into a land they themselves control and rule with an iron fist clutching a bible. History, science, fact none of that matters. The only thing that matters is that they will be the ones with the iron gauntlet. This is why they are perfectly willing to 'decry the murder of innocent babies' and are willing to use arson, chemical attacks, murder, propane tanks covered in nails, theft, intimidation, and legal maneuvering that makes abortion all but impossible to get but not illegal. If it were illegal they wouldn't have the excuse to go about murdering anyone who disagrees with them.

They are the burgeoning American Taliban and they will do everything and anything to take this country from us.
