U2 and Steve Lillywhite together again

acroyearLillywhite produced or engineered Boy, October, and War. In addition, he engineered and produced the strong celtic-sounding albums for Scottish groups Big Country and Simple Minds (Once Upon a Time).
After War, U2 allied with Eno & Lanois to produce pretty much everything else since, with mixed results to my ears. I loved Unforgetable Fire and Joshua Tree, was unimpressed by Rattle (which everybody around me seemed to adore), and was completely turned off by Actung. Aside from the title track for "Until the End of the World", there's been very little of their 90s work that's appealed to me. Though Steve's had a small hand in some of that work, its rarely felt the way his influence is felt on the 80s works.
Maybe Lillywhite can get them to find their Irish roots again, something lost in their quest for cosmopolitan ubiquity, IMHO...
