He's not performing or attending at the Oscars tonite 'cause

1. They reduced the number of nominees for original song from 5 to 3
2. They're going to perform them in one single medley instead of the traditional means of all of them getting their own spot in the night

I'm with him on that: quit short-changing good work, Academy.

I'm still hoping Wall-E wins everything it's up for, of course...

and pretty much could care less about anything else that happens tonite...we may skip it entirely and just watch Ledger's nominated Dark Knight performance instead...or finish the West Wing. :)

I wasn't going to watch, then I did. It was probably one of the better Oscar broadcasts.

I also was kinda surprised at the only three nominations, but I suspect that it is a move to help speed up the broadcast of the Oscars.

And yeah, you were disappointed, but I doubt that any animated film will get that much respect by the Academy. I wasn't shocked that it only won the category it was expected to win.
