TORNADO WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 4:00 PM ON WEDNESDAY
IN MARYLAND: ANNE ARUNDEL, CALVERT, CARROLL, CHARLES, FREDERICK, HOWARD, MONTGOMERY, PRINCE GEORGES, ST. MARYS
On super-doppler now, the entirety of Prince George's county is yellow or worse. ALL of it. not a single spec of green.

dayum.

the size and water of Baltimore is controlling the northern wing, which is now much less red than it was as it hits the city.

Got a bit interesting here but seems to have moved on for now. First time that I can recall the emergency system going off for a real emergency. The fact that it was a couple of hours after the monthly test is ironic.

yeah - trees down in some suburbs, killed someone by hitting a car.

we're fine, a dead tree fell down behind our fence and is perfectly balanced on it. it was too small to hit the house, so no worries. i'll have pictures later.

"but wait, there's more" - there's a HUGE patch, big enough to be a hurricane center, that's headed this way in an hour or so. spread out and with milder temps, the winds shouldn't be as bad, but ...

Well, out here in PW County, I was driving to Stonewall Jackson High to pick up the Patrick and I'm looking at that green and yellow triangle shaped cloud, going...that's not good. When I pulled into the parking lot I turned on WTOP and heard that we were under a tornado warning. Parked the car ran through blinding rain to the school to take cover...and security is saying "oh, yeah, we've been under a warning since noon, it's a watch that's dangerous" Sigh.

Driving home there was a tree struck by lightening by Jennie Dean Elementary in Manassas, lots of intersections dark. We have a branch on the back deck....and a very wet, annoyed cat who insisted on going outside before I left....
