Followup to "Best Animated Film Ever"

It turns out the ignorant jerk critic who called it that, insulting the last *70* years of animation innovation, progress, and talent, was from the Wall Street Journal.  In other words, an ignorant hack writing for a paper that has no knowledge of animation other than its cost v. profit margins.

but even economically speaking, it isn't the "best".  the highest profit margin of any animated film to this day remains Snow White.

I saw the Simpson's movie the other day. Meh. It was cute, but didn't rock my world. Not sure what movie THAT critic saw.

Give me classic Disney ANY DAY!

I'm not qualified to pick the best animated movie EVER!!!eleventyone, but my personal all-time favorite is "Beauty and the Beast."

My fave animated film is "101 Dalmatians," and has been since I was a kid. Sure, it's not technically brilliant (although it did introduce xerography as a film-making technique), but I've always liked it. This movie is the reason I wanted Dalmatians (and I've had three *so far,* LOL). Close second is "Beauty and the Beast."

the real technical beauty of 101? Frank Thomas, piano player in Firehouse Five plus Two, drew the sequence where the lead human was playing the piano. every key note pressed by the human is accurate to a real piano. He didn't quite get that far (since he added the comedy "hook") when he did it in Peter Pan, but for 101, he took the time to nail it.

Fantasia scared the crap out out of me when I was a little girl - to the point where I ran out of the theater crying & sat on the curb waiting for my Mom to pick me up from the Kiddie show - Mickey drowning & all that lot, you know?

My favorite Disney flick is Snow White. Something about that well, a wish, a witch & a hero on horseback. *sigh*

oh heck, Sorcerers just got me started. I took to the Rite of Spring like a duck to water, age 6, and it's still one of my top 10 classical/orchestral music pieces ever.
