reservation ranting...

faireraven did a reservation through hotwire for flight/hotel/car, and the car ended up being avis. all good and well. except that there was no way to attach my preferred rental number ("wizard" in avis's terms) to the reservation because hotwire doesn't have a place for it, yet there's no way for avis to add it either because hotwire reservations are "read only" to avis customer service (STUPID STUPID STUPID).
what does this mean?
w/ avis preferred (yes, commercial time here) my car is so ready to go that i get off the shuttle bus at the car, get in, turn the keys, and leave. that simple. saves as much as half an hour in line i'd really rather not waste.
