LOS ANGELES - Al Gore announced on Thursday a series of worldwide concerts to focus on the threat of climate change, with a powerhouse lineup from the Red Hot Chili Peppers to Snoop Dogg to Bon Jovi.Let me get this straight.
The 24-hour event on July 7 is part of a campaign, Save Our Selves — The Campaign for a Climate in Crisis, that promoters hope will trigger a broad movement to address what the former vice president calls a global climate crisis.
We're going to promote awareness of global warming by holding a massive series of rock concerts involving
- dozens of 18 wheeler trucks and
- several gas-guzzling tour buses, to a bunch of cities, to put on shows that
- use tons of electricity,
- likely primarily generated by coal-burning plants, to blare out the message to kids who all had to drive to these concerts,
- many each in their own individual cars for at least part, if not all, of the trip.
He was better off just marketing the dvd.

• it's a nunch of simultaenous concerts held in a 24 hour span, not a "tour," obviating the "tour buses."
• People won't drive anyway?
Sometimes you gotta break a few eggs, dude.
