Seriously, DC musician/producer/engineer Charlie Pilzer, who is also a long-standing performer and musical director for the Washington Revels and (when not busy with all of that cool stuff) plays accordion for the Foggy Bottom Morris, was nominated (and made it to the final 5) for Best Traditional World Music Recording, for "Hambo in the Snow", a collaboration with scandinavian-style musicians Loretta Kelley and Andrea Hoag. (Loretta plays the Hardanger Fiddle, the same Norwegian fiddle made famous in the Rohan theme for Shore's score for the Two Towers.).
They didn't win, but serious congrats all around for a local group making it that far, and I hoped they had fun watching the Police like most of the crowd did. :)
