proud of disney for not hiding fact

They are quite honest in the making of Little Mermaid that Bill Lauch was Howard Ashman's partner, and not "friend of" as companies might want to do (and have done) to keep the religious right from boycotting their product for supposedly "promoting" homosexuality and "exposing" children to supposedly deviant behavior.

Of course, Disney's had plenty of attempts at boycotts from that constituency and came out like roses, so there you go.

There are some things Disney is good about...at times. Unfortunately I find it's usually when it suits their needs.

I haven't gotten a chance to watch many of the extras yet but I did check out the virtual ride that was never built. That was pretty nifty.

Too bad the new Little Mermaid DVD is crap. (Not the extras, but the film itself. Disney did it again and screwed up the sound mix.)
