acroyeari say that to ANYBODY who actually thinks policians are telling the truth when they say that the gay marriage amendment won't affect gay people who sign contractual agreements.
This site very nicely collects dozens of stories of gay couples who have gone through absolute legal hell just to get any one of the hundreds (327, according to the New York Supreme Court) of rights that "traditional" married couples get simply by virtue of being married (with no lawyer necessary). It's focused on Wisconsin, but hundreds if not thousands of similar stories can be found for every state in this supposed "union".
