I'm sure the police of a Phoenix suburb had a reason to use a SWAT team, an APC (running over a civilian passenger car WITH A MOTHER AND DAUGHTER STILL IN IT), tear gas canisters (so many of them that their explosion literally burned the house down), and killing the family dog by laughingly chasing it back into the fire with fire extinguishers...

...all for the sake of serving a misdemeaner arrest warrent over a couple of traffic tickets...

...but it had better have been a damn good one.

(btw, this was all back in 2004 - i'm still trying to see what's happened about it since...)

That is just sick. There is an email address for the author of the article at the end.

They're a little gung-ho about their law-enforcement down there in Phoenix, remember...

Aw, jeez. I can't stand stories of dog deaths. Especially willful dog deaths. What's that statistic about cruelty to animals being a signifier for abusers?

It's part of a three-legged stool, so to speak, for establishing the likelihood of anti-social personality disorder. The other two are fire-setting and bed-wetting. Absent any one of the three, sociopathy is unlikely ... but if all three are there, then it's about 99.9% certain.
