Ok, I am getting sick of this excuse.
Feb. 23rd, 2006 01:00 pmStrangers at the Door - New York Times:
If that is your standard for judging the companies of a country, then condemn every single American company in the same way, because Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols along with every single dollar they spent, came from the United States of America.
Take this xenophobic crap and shove it. There are reasons to be concerned about this deal, but 9/11 isn't one of them.
Two of the 9/11 hijackers were citizens of the emirates, and some of the money for the attacks came from there.I'll repeat what I've written before:

Date: 2006-02-23 07:04 pm (UTC)now that doesn't mean the government itself had anything to do with it (does any bank president really know what his bank is doing with all of its money? never...), and one of the first post-revelation laws they passed was a felony-scale ban on money laundering (that has been enforced with multiple convictions in the last 2 years).
again, the fact that it happened is something to keep an eye on, but they are already doing something about it, and money can be laundered just about anywhere as anybody involved in (or even just casually watching) the drug war should know.
