Why did The Matrix itself simulate bathrooms and toilets for the humans?

One only learns potty-training because one needs to learn self-control regarding when one goes.  Only in the Matrix, that really isn't the case.  Your body in the real world human-farms just goes when it feels like it and the machines just get rid of it for you, but since the Matrix has your mind, your mind doesn't actually have to think its going at the same time, does it?

If it doesn't, then there's no reason for the toilet in the Matrix.  Entire generations of humans could exist without ever having been taught that there was such a thing because they really wouldn't need it!

on the subject of bodily fluids in the Matrix, how does childbirth work? If person A and B get together in the Matrix, do the machines take the sperm from the male in the real world and implant it in the female, regardless of how far apart they may be in physical reality?  Is someone's child in the Matrix *really* their child, genetically?

Ahhh, for the same reason the first "Utopia" matrix failed, the mind would start rejecting the matrix because of the unreal nature of it. Thus why they had to duplicate an existing time bathrooms and all. (Well that and the budget restrictions and lack of a plot in a utopia :) )

A. Same thing for handicapped folks: not once did you see a wheelchair in a "people pod", but still, people are still handicapped in the Matrix.

B. The world as it was was continued for continuity, and it already had a history, so the machines didn't have to create a history.

Wasn't there something about the Matrix simulating a particular time period? As such, it would simulate everything...down to being out of TP when you really needed it.

Might as well ask why there were restraunts in the Matrix when the people in pods were fed intravenously. Of course, those people didn't KNOW they were in pods...

Then again, growing up that way, how did they know that they needed to eat?
