that's about our "premium" price as well 'round here. A little more the closer to the city you get. But similarly, the price in San Bernadino isn't the price in the last few stations by the parking lots of LAX, where they're milking the rental-car returners for every dime they can get.
One really cool site, if you like price-gouging, is in New Jersey heading for the Lincoln Tunnel into NYC (where basically there is no such thing as a gas station for miles, as you probably can recall). The difference between the inbound and outbound sides is almost 35 cents!
They exist, but I don't think they're very strong or fast. Whatever car I end up with has got to be able to handle long trips (here to Michigan, here to Ontario) and be able to haul bookshelves and things like that.
I keep wishing that Saturn would make their station wagon a hybrid instead of their SUV.
there's also some debate among scientists that it may reduce emissions on the car itself, but generating the electricity for the car, or even just the hydrogen from water for the hybreds, might actually release more pollution at the plant per watt of energy than the car would on gasoline.
