Is July 1985, with a lot of "followup" singles to big hits from groups like Hall & Oats and Don Henley.

I missed the "top three" recap, being in Lowes at the time getting yet more supplies for this insane living/dining room project that's taking FAR longer than it should thanks to having to replace whole floorboards due to wood rot.

*sigh*

Anyways, 22 years ago I was in a biology summer school class, busing to West Springfield, and enduring the fun of a hurricane "Bob" (before the later Bob that retired the name).  Goonies was a great film, and I played a LOT of "Zork".  Oh, and I grew 6 inches in 4 weeks.  And I still undecided on whether or not I liked "New Coke".

But for those last two experiences, I'd almost rather be there than doing what I'm doing now.

[update around #14 on the countdown] - we've got thunderstorms forming right on top of us so we're without songs for a while :(

well, we came back online just in time for #2 (Prince's Raspberry Beret) and #1: Duran Duran's View to a Kill.  Go Bond!

at any rate, the rain has *really* been a setback - we've finally finished pulling out the dead boards and need to cut the giant 4' x 8' *inside* the house which is a logistical nightmare.  carpet's been taken up in the hallway, but that's still the last place to place flooring down on, so that may end up going tomorrow...which means *i* may end up the one to do it...ick.

the floor boards were cut and finally in place at 6pm (yes, that was non-stop working since 11 just setting everything up in order to be able to cut 2 boards to the right size and fit them in).  they're now hammered into place, sanded down, and we're adding wood-filling to cap it off.  let it dry, and WOW we can *finally* being actually doing what we were SUPPOSED to be doing since 11am yesterday.

painting supplies are consolidated.  there's still touch-ups to be done but they're gonn have to wait or the flooring will never get done, furniture put back in place, and life resuming to something approaching normality before faire season rips it apart again.

at this point now, i have tomorrow off and simply nothing to do because i'm not doing the flooring alone.  we'll see what happens.  i may go to work and see if i can get wednesday off instead.
