...to actually mention places where traffic is being sucky?

yesterday, i was stuck for 20 minutes on a one-mile stretch of road that no traffic report said was backed up.

because of a car wash.

and the only reason i tried to take that route was because my primary route was also backed up.

Means that very likely, no one bothered to call it in. Listening to WTOP lately, it seems as if they check the major spots, but then rely on calls to get other spots to list... and of course, there's the time issue as well.

I've been laughing my head off at the idiots washing their cars this week... the roads have had plenty of wet, salty spots to get them all nice and dirty within a few minutes of getting them clean... what's the point?

(And, yeah... occasionally I'll be nice and phone something in... though the last two were reports that things had cleared up in HoCo that were still being reported as backed up because of earlier accidents.)
