one of my favorite moments in RotK (the book) is when Pippin is praised by Gandalf after having sworn fealty to Gondor & Denethor: "It was well done.  Good deeds should not be met by cold council."

well, it wasn't back where it should have been (Gandalf talking to Pip just before Minas Morgul lights up and the Army released), where I badly missed it in the theatrical release.

but it was restored...the line was given to Faramir, to say to Pip, as an intro to a little character development between the two prior to the formal oath-swearing and Faramir's assignment to charge on horse.

made me smile...
