Bush had NOTHING to do with the Spanish PM losing his job...look at the pattern...bombing and life loss right before an election..SCORE 1 for the islamic garbage who dont even care abou themselves...Spain caved...who's next?

If we start caving every time there is horrible, unfortunate, yet REALISTIC innocent life loss, things only go down hill from there. I HATE DEATH but what is even worse than death are many populations who TRULY live day-to-day in angry, cruel and violent societies who need to control everything...and I mean EVERYTHING.

And we think WE have it bad PULEASE...if we cave because of loss of innocent life in our own country and stop doing our best to FREE (and there is NO SUCH thing as COMPLETE freedom...okay...there is...its called anarchy and THAT is a pathetic option) innocent people from cruelty because some asswipes decide to have ZERO respect for ANYTHING...then people JUST ARENT NOT GETTING THE WHOLE PICTURE.

And before we start with the political and monetary "gains" of "freeing" others less fortunate than our country...its a sad realistic residual I would be HAPPY to accept in order for someone in another country to have the same/similar freedoms we take for granted everyday.

on the other hand, the point is that the people of Spain were of mixed feelings about getting involved, see now that it was a bad thing, and blame their (now former) leaders. Even without the attack last week, they would have lost the election; they were already down in the polls in the last month to start with.

those leaders were (to my mind) duped into supporting the US in Iraq by lies told by our "President" and his administration. The same lies they told us, and a few others they didn't. Believing those lies cost the leaders of Spain their position. THAT is why Bush cost the PM his job. As soon as the first Spaniard was in a position to say "What WMDs???", his fate was sealed.

The same thing is likely to happen to Blair in the UK. This is the biggest tragedy of it all because I really feel Blair has been very good to the UK, especially to Scotland and North Ireland. If Blair goes down because of Bush's lies, I'm going to be very royally upset, indeed.

WELCOME to the world of MULTIPLE variable as to why just about ANYTHING is the way it is. The only people who are EFFECTIVE at doing ANYTHING are those who dont leech to ONE specific thing in order to cripple or stop something important that needs to be done and done completely!

Yeup...was already aware of Spain's political environment. It "may" have been time for a change in their government. It was also an "ideal" platform for the islamic morons to get yet another wreckless point across. Yet another complex example of people using people.

Plain and simple...they royally screwed up with the "WMD"s. PERIOD. They should have used another tactic to get in there. And YES, ignoring the bastard and his country was NOT an option and no one else had the balls to do WHAT NEEDED TO BE DONE!

Yeup...the idiots LIED instead of telling the TRUTH of why they really needed to go to war. And whether people LIKE it or not there is a CLEAR reason we need to be at war. Most people wont agree with this because unless their very basic necessities are threatened then they think they know everything and spew crap instead of truly looking at as MANY variable as they can to, AGAIN, seeing the ENTIRE PICTURE! ZERO EXCUSE for them lying but Id like to see how they would have pulled off what is needing to be done by not because of the utter TRASH we have in not only this country but worldwide. WAKE-UP call...PEACE is NOT always REALISTICALLY possible...PERIOD! I HATE this fact but am not going to be coward when the tough things need doing. These same cowards will constantly bring up mistakes that were made, lies told, and do whatever they have to do "blame" someone and not realize the millions of dollars they waste which could be used to dealing with NOW! I could snap every single one of their necks for their wreckless behaviour which is JUST as WRONG as the lies that were told.

What a lot of really STUPID people are doing now is NOT letting go and MOVING the hell on to NOW and dealing with NOW. Our occupation in Iraq is important whether people LIKE it or not. It is important most importantly for not only freedom of all decent people but also as a MESSAGE to those who are continually killing innocent people because of their twisted "view" of the world and how "they" think it should be and are willing to KILL ANYONE to get their twisted messages across.

We need to stop the taliban, al-qaeda as well as any other metnally destructive facet that is a threat to decent people NOW! I dont care WHO in the world keeps throwing stupid politcal agendas in the way of this important task...Id OFF every single one of them if I could...but most importantly WE CAN NO STOP until we are successful at rooting out every last terror cell.

If Blair falls because of Bush's lies...his own damned fault...this isnt kindergarten and the man/cabinet chose to do what they did and shame on them if they didnt independently check things out on their own.

THAT, my friend, is REALITY.

Joe, sorry about taking over your LJ but...

I agree that Saddam had to go down (as did his sons). However, the way that Bush handled the whole thing gives the US as a whole a major black eye in the political arena (it is going to be a lot harder in the future to get other countries to agree to doing anything with the history of the lies and deception). We also know (thanks to non-US media) that a lot of the 'heroics' of the war that made it to TV were staged (or at least highly set-up) by the media arm of the army. I am NOT saying that there weren't heroics, but that some of the footage of heroics wasn't.

At this point in time the "we are better than anyone" view of the stereotypical American is annoying, grating, and just plain rude when we travel overseas. Bush's actions and 'tude are just over-sized versions of the same thing. He did NOT consolidate his positions before moving north (hence some of the troubles behind the non-existent line). He did not plan HOW to deal with the country after the hostilities were dealt with. He did not have a plan for how to get OUT of the country. He may have had a plan for which companies would get preference at contracts w/out having to be in a bid process.

Right now the US media is showing a lot of terrorism by groups but NOT showing terrorism by certain groups (Israel). We hear of the horrible conditions in prisons in Iraq but NOT of the ones in Guatanomo....
