It is probably a comment that he would agree with. After making "Zach and Miri Make A Porno", he realized that he's not that guy anymore and that there are filmmakers making that kind of film better than he was.

he's also been very vocal about the loss of Miramax and its ilk, stressing that while he's not really that kind of filmmaker anymore, the means for new independent artists to get their work produced are not what they used to be.

i do still wonder if smith getting singled out (there are fatter people than him on flights all the time) was really a criticism of his works. question is, was it a jersey-ite complaining about Jersey Girl, or a Catholic complaining about Dogma? :)

Turns out her was singled out not for being fat but because there was a conflict over some seating availability, he was the last one on flying "standby", the pilot said "deal with it so we can leave" and the idiot flight attendants kicked off the last one on the flight, who happened to be Smith.
