second, I can't believe I didn't make the connection -- it seems so obvious now!
third, I loved the acting, the revisionist histories and characters, the special effects, and yet I really despise the new Star Trek movie -- they had a lot of great ideas, and didn't know how to connect them. They really should have hired a couple of editors for continuity, science, and believability before releasing it.
