acroyearThe Beatles were chart-toppers this past week, for obvious reasons, with most of their individual newly-remastered albums in the top 20. Well, the Reuters article on it mentions that Abbey Road was #3, coming in above Sgt. Pepper, implying that it may be becoming more popular than that "greatest albums of all time" topper.
I say, they utterly missed an important fact.
Abbey Road and Let It Be (and Yellow Submarine) are NOT included in the mono boxed set, because they only ever had stereo masters from the beginning. So anybody who was a "Beatles purist" and got the mono set still had to get those two albums separately. This will, of course, skew their numbers. Amazingly obvious facts that show how easily a "story" can triumph yet again over actual truth in reporting.
