I got a snack craving (it's a diet, duh), and am staring very very intently at the Nature Valley Sweet & Salty Bar that I, of course, can't eat because I'm awaiting to see if it is or isn't on the (still incomplete) recall list.

grumble...ok, gave up and just had regular peanuts...

a factory in georgia that makes peanut butter not for stores but for industrial use has a salmonella scare right now. this is the kind of peanut butter that is packaged in snack foods like keebler cookies.

Ahh. I'd heard about that, but somehow didn't make the connection with sweet & salty.

my box is full of peanut bars, which means it is full of peanuts. until there's a final confirmation yea/nay, i ain't touchin' 'em.

(and yes, i've had some already and obviously didn't get sick, but "it only takes 1".)

Grrr... they were the granola bar I ended up settling on... the only one I liked... and they had to go and sneak *nuts* into the ones that used to be non-nut. Yeah, found out "the hard way"... I mean, whoever heard of a company *not* taking advantage of a recipe change to put "new and improved" all over the box, giving us a heads up that the ingredients list should be re-checked?

Hey, one "good thing" about that recall... I'd been *really* wanting to buy some Little Debbies the other day... and now? Not so much (they *were* on the list).
