They really DO NOT want to sound racist. They are just hoping if they say that, it will come true.

In the same way they want Pi = 22/7, and choose Creationism because it is easier than Evolution.

22/7 is simple stupidity.

But (ID) Creationism over Evolution has nothing to do with its simplicity and everything to do with using it as a means for getting evangelical religion into schools and eventually turning this country into a theocracy. Science is the light of knowledge that made the Enlightenment possible. For the Right (who by their writings clearly thought the 17th Century with its wars of religion and witch trials and the last remnants of the inquisition was a great idea), science is the means to their end.
