Bolt goes 3-for-3, adding relay gold to 100, 200 - Olympics - Yahoo! Sports:
Usain Bolt loves the cameras, the cameras love Usain Bolt
that's nice. now tell me why this article, entirely about Bolt, has only one picture of him (a screen-cap for a video link, so not even a good one), and 4 pictures of Tyson Gay who's not even mentioned in the article???

To coin a phrase: FAIL

On the not so failing side, congrats to Bryan Clay, only the second American to win the Decathlon since Bruce Jenner's Wheaties Box moment of glory, 32 years ago.

"Tyson Homosexual?"

Because they're trying to make the American Family Association's newsfeed go bonkers over Tyson Gay's name again?

They just went bonkers today over the fact that Hallmark now has gay wedding cards...

I found the mention of Bryan Clay's victory to be very low profile and under-reported. I think I saw a 2 paragraph mention this morning.

A 10-event grueling competition that doesn't seem to rate the same media coverage or emphasis on accomplishment, as the flashier swimming or track.

That's FAIL, right there.

I'm with you there. some more objective commentators are already saying it would have gotten more attention except that Bolt's "people" finally yelled "Press Conference" and WHAM every Track&Field interviewer/reporter disappeared in a heartbeat.

*sigh*

What I would love to see, but am not holding my breath for, is a follow-up on Clay which includes a shout-out recognition from Jenner, on the decathalon victory.

The media did remember to get Johnson' reaction on Bolt, and Spitz' reaction on Phelps, so it's possible.

Unlikely, but possible, at least in some SI writer's personal blog, if nothing else.

decent writeup at NBC

More details (http://www.nbcolympics.com/trackandfield/news/newsid=241924.html) in it then the notices I saw earlier.

Respectable.
