I know not everything Disney does is great, and Lassiter didn't come into the fold in time to look at EVERYTHING they were doing and cut every bad project out, but, seriously, What the Hell were they thinking?

The current teaser trailer for this September release is bad enough...I *really* don't want to see the full trailer when it opens for Wall E this summer...

As one serioulsly sarcastic Village Voice column puts it:
Maintain your dignity, don't sell off your talent for a cheap buck, and never offer your services for something called Beverly Hills Chihuahua—wait, Salma Hayek, Cheech Marin, Edward James Olmos, Paul Rodriguez, and George Lopez are starring in this fall flick? Virtually every modern-day Mexican actor that studios respect are willing to voice dogs?! Unless it's a social satire on the level of The Importance of Being Earnest, this Disney movie seems like the worst Mexican disaster since NAFTA.
Oh, and what's a little geography and history lesson among friends here, anyways?
Alert viewers have noted that the first few seconds of the trailer feature the narrator describing his ancestors' fight alongside the Aztec warriors of Mexico while showing an aerial view of Machu Picchu, which is in Peru.
This is just SO adding gas to the fire around the cultural ignorance Disney's showing in adding Disney characters to It's a Small World and destroying part of the rain forest section of it to add more American dolls.

As for Peru vs Mexico, you'd think that the same company with all of the reference material from Saludos Amigos and Three Cabillieros (never mind the set in Peru Emperor's New Groove and its more serious early draft as Emperor of the Sun) wouldn't have made such a stupid blunder.
