The organization that I am a "shadow" board member of, the National Capital Area Skeptics, is accepting nominations for board membership. You seem like a natural for this sort of thing. The terms are two years long, and they sponsor talks and other events which seem like they'd be right up your alley. (I am a "shadow" board member because my schedule is busy enough that I can't do full participation, plus they hold some meetings over there closer to you than they are to me).
