Yeah I've been stressing as my step father lives a couple of blocks outside of the mandatory evacuation zone. But he said the winds have died down enough for the water bombers to do their job. *crossing fingers*
so far, that region (hwy 56, Ted Williams Freeway) looks ok - the fire seems to be moving north to be stopped by efforts south of escondido, and also moving west through mostly empty land towards where they're setting up a barrier to protect encinitas. To the south its been "flat-lined".
