For me, it was the summer between 6th and 7th grades, and we were in the process of prepping for a trip up and down the east coast driving trip with my brother and grandparents (mom's side) that would eventually hit all 13 colonies, and in Philadelphia on the return, run into a book shop that had a LOT of the Doctor Who target novelizations which would satiate mom and me for the rest of the trip.
The trip included stops in Williamsburg, VA (and surrounding historical sites); New London, CT (our main target - Grandma would go up north each summer to see her sister and get out of the florida heat); Mystic, CT; Boston, MA; Springfield, MA (college friends of mom's lived there); Philadelphia; and then eventually back down to Jacksonville.
Being father's day, I'm headed south to my parents and won't be able to do much commenting.
