Here!

These include the additions of:
  • Thursday morning in the Magic Kingdom, including a great street show by a fantastic Jack Sparrow.
  • Friday all day @ epcot, including lots of Disney topiary and a few shots of Illuminations
  • Saturday's mix-n-match day of Studios, the Boardwalk, Epcot (seeing in the day what we saw @ night the night before), and Magic Kingdom's final parade and fireworks
Saturday night (after having had this camera for 4 years) we finally figured out the best way to get night shots without flash, so some early parade shots are either blurry or flash, but by the end we'd nailed it.  There's a really nice sequence showing the Spectromagic transition - click this one and then "next" your way through the next 2.

Thank you Joe,
I have never really had a jones for Disney.
I was so turned off by the commercialism and marketing. Having kids, can both spoil you for it and open you up to it. I enjoy the movies, and as a craftsmen, appreciate the artistry, it's just so sticky and pervasive that I avoided it. For example, we have been very careful to watch out for the Disney Princess campaign in regards to our daughter, Ellawyn. We often joke about being Faerie King and Queen, and her being a Princess, but I have told her that Princesses don't just get their way, they have a responsiblity to the people under their care. (When we attend shows there if often a dozen people or more, with several small children under my care, camping, and often I am the only one well prepared with a proper flashlight and such. So I am sort of a Faery King.)

So your pictures have really inspired us. Ellawyn sat on lap and looked at ALL of them, for over an hour.

Her: "What's dat castle?"
Me: "That is Cinderella's castle"
Her: "Can I go in it?"
Me: "Well, sometime."
Her: "I really would like that, I will be really good so you and mommy can work alot so we can go!"
Me (wiping a tear)" That would be really fun, honey"
Her: "Is there a Tinkerbell Ride?"
Me: "I don't think so, but there is a picture of her"
Her: "Ohhhh...she's pretty, Who is that pretty girl with the white ears?"
Me: "That is Joe's wife. She played fiddle for you"
Her: "I like her, can I have ear's like that?"

It really was a delighful time. I get very busy, and although I spend all day with Ell, very few quite, intimate times. We have decided that we shall have to find the finances to attend sometime in the next few year. I have already spent some time looking over the package deals. Whew! Can you say Family Of Four! But it would be worth it.

As Ellawyn said, "I want to go when I am still small"

Thanks again. I needed that.

*blush* Awwwww... Thank you, Shane.

You know, if you were going during faire season, there's a HUGE special going on that starts now, effectively free meals... But faire season is NOT a time I think you'd want to go, although it *is* the cheapest time of year to do so... Well, other than February. :)

You know... We may be "grownups", but the magic is still there, for anyone who wants to find it. Then again, you know all about that, you make magic all the time... :)

*HUGS*

Your welcome, and thank you for the kind words. I try to always tell everyone who works for us, that they need to pay special attention to each kid they have contact with. You may not remember that kid, but They might remember you for the rest of their lives. I know. I was kid at a RennFest once. I remember the really magic moments with several entertainers and I remember one really cruddy rude guy, having a bad day.

Ellawyn is behind me now, working at her craft table, designing a Tinkerbell Ride....With cars, and seats, etc. So there you are.

Now, faire season, would NOT be the time we would want to go...unless we had a vending gig at the Park. I have a friend who sells her wings there. We are actually going to an event during Faire this year.
FaeriCon will be in Philly during the show. Should be an pretty amazing event with many of the greats in fantasy art, writing, and academic community. My favorite attendees are John and Caitlin Matthews, two of the premier researchers into Grail and Arthurian mythology. I will just have to be really stressed about our booths while there.

On another note, ya'll might find interesting. This weekend we are attending the Western PA Faerie Festival. Interesting show on the same grounds as where they host Pennsic. Strangly enough, completely out of character for them, it is being partially sponsored by the Maryland Renaissance Festival! I guess this whole Faerie Festival thing we helped start is begining to attract attention.....Looking forward to finding out why they got involved.

Much Peace
