The "warriors" are completely full of shit.  Not because of their alleged cause in and of itself, but because their tactics actually achieved the complete opposite of the desired effect.

If they *really* wanted to catch pedophiles, they'd have done it *silently* by supporting the way the FBI does it - finding the posts that imply illegal actions, collecting evidence, waiting for the clincher, then filing a subpoena to LJ to get the real identity under a non-disclosure and make the arrest without any fanfare at all, all with so much proof as to force the confession and plea bargain.

by causing the blanket shutdowns, these idiots scared any real criminals away without actually identifying them and as such, the assholes we all hate are now free to continue their abusive behavior elsewhere or even still on LJ under an alternate identity.

granted, it's still possible that LJ can turn the content of the blocked communities and blogs over to the feds, but at this point anybody guilty is already covering their tracks...

They don't want to catch anyone. They want to make a big stink, swing their tiny tonkers in the belief that they're somehow Better Than Anyone Who Does This For Real, smack down everyone who isn't them, and get all the attention towards them.

While of course being able to run behind "but won't you THINK of the CHILDREN?"
