You know, with a headline like that one from Reuters, I'm now expecting Arnold and his entourage to enter on the backs of donkeys (a really BIG donkey, in his case), walking over palm fronds as the masses bow at the sight of him...next thing you know, he's going to go straight to the california legislation office and turn over the desktops of the power companies' lobbyists...

...or maybe I'm just wierd.

Turn over the desktops of the power companies' lobbyists? He's already talking about forgiving most of the Enron settlement.

I didn't get the image of Jesus, but more the image of the fall of Jericho. Without the trumpets.

well, Jericho more brings out the image of walking around the city first, not entering it, since they walked around it 3 times and then blew the trumpets and wham, they win.

oddly enough, practically the same thing happened to the Crusaders, who while losing a seige, marched around the city barefoot 3 times as a form of Penance...and promptly won the battle for the city (since it was a
big morale booster, and the troops of the city got stupid and opened the gates to attack them). victories like that kept making the Crusaders really think they were in the right...

Funny you should mention that. Apparently, some still DO think the Crusades were right:

Okay, Joe, I'm as warped as you are: It's just that that particular phrasing calls to mind the Palm Sunday readings every year...
