I've been seeing other articles where Keith repealed his claims and said it was an April Fool's gag. "I seriously don't understand why anybody would believe I snorted my father's ashes."

Exactly. When I first read the article the other day I didn't even blink, take a second glance to make sure I read the article correctly, etc. because to quote you "Your Keith f*cking Richards!".
