Crooks and Liars » Olbermann: “Why does habeas corpus hate America”:
So as you can see, even without habeas corpus, at least one tenth of the Bill of Rights, I guess that's the Bill of "Right" now… remains virtually intact.

And we can rest easy knowing we will never, ever have to quarter soldiers in our homes… as long as the Third Amendment still stands strong.

The President can take care of that with a Signing Statement.

Even the Third Amendment's been a dead letter for awhile if you count Federal agents as troops --which by 1770 standards they most certainly are. Since Reagan amped up the Drug War in the 80's, it is now permissible for Feds to hang around a home they've "hit" in a surprise bust, putting up their feet in the living room and helping themselves to whatever's in the fridge while they wait for the warrant to be signed. Sometimes this process has been known to take 4-6 hours.

But yeah, I'm sure we can expect War on Terror exceptions to be drafted up in the form of more signing statements, you know, to help clear up any nebulous misunderstandings...
