...to American Top 40.

They're playing "classic songs that have been disco-fied", including Stairway to Heaven (yuck yuck yuck), Beethoven's 5th (A Fifth of Beethoven, featured on the SNF soundtrack, and yuck), Ethel Merman doing a disco version of Show Business, and a disco cover of the I Love Lucy theme music, all as a lead in to the more contemporary (to the 1988 AT 40 on right now) "disco" remake of Always on my Mind by the Pet Shop Boys.

yuck.

It's not disco-fied, which should be illegal, but have you heard of Gary Hoey? I think you'll like his stuff. I can send you some if you want.

my current "new music" fix has been classical, unless i'm getting a new prog rock cd from a group i already like, but thanks anyways.

I listen to AT40 for the memories of my high school days.

Even imagining a disco Stairway tickles my gag reflex, but I kindof like the disco Beethoven's 5th. And I've got Meco's disco Star Wars on an old 45!

That would be Far Corporation's version of "Stairway To Heaven". I had never heard of it until I started listening to XM.

I actually like the Pet Shop Boys version of "You're Always On My Mind".
