Have you checked out the opening crawl? It's supposed to be sans "Episode IV - A New Hope" circa 1977 unlike the 1993 LaserDisc release.
yup, the episode bar is missing. with the cgi, it appears as though they extended how long the STAR WARS banner was on the screen to make up for the otherwise blank space.
