oh, and this Foxtrot is just WAY too funny to the 80s generation...

uh, that's the punch-line...Foxtrot, when Jason's featured (he's the youngest one, in the Tron outfit), is a very geek-friendly comic. Its the author's outlet for his geek and physics-major (yes, Bill Amend was one) background.

*g* Sigh... now I admit that I was still in HS (though not by much), but the comp sci class I was taking at Villanova U. was *highly* advised to see "Tron" at the time. All that hype about Toy Story and computer animation was *nothing* compared to how Tron was hyped up for computer geeks in '82.

Saw that one in the paper and started feeling old (again).

Oh, and Calvin and Hobbes? Jamie's been reading it since he was 5... one of the first comic books he was introduced to... *after* a bit of a discussion (again) of how what we read isn't necessarily always a good thing to actually try in real life. *g* Of course, he then proceeds to impress the heck out of his Grandma by answering the phone one day in a *very* proper, clear manner... and when asked where he had learned to answer the phone so nicely, he explained that he had read a comic and that was the way that Calvin answered the phone.
