The week of September 13th through the 21st is a rather extensive Celtic week throughout the DC area.
  • The Birchmere in Alexandria will feature Seven Nations, Natalie MacMaster from Cape Breton Island, Schooner Fare, and Gaelic Storm.
  • The Old Blind Dogs will be at the Kennedy Center on the 16th, likely at the Millenium Stage at 6pm (and for free!).
  • Irish performers Danu will be at Jammin' Java in Vienna on the 19th.
  • The Maryland Renaissance Festival will feature its annual Scottish/Celtic weekend on the 13th and 14th, and Pyrate Invasion weekend on the 20th and 21st.
Seems a great way to celebrate my birthday, no?

More details of this sort of thing at The Celts in DC Page, or add the feed using this.

yeah...at this point, the priorities (besides Faire) would be Natalie MacMaster and Old Blind Dogs (which yes, is free, but will cost $10 in parking unless we shuttle it from FB/GWU metro station or walk the bridge from Rosslyn). Seven Nations would be good to see with a group (shame Am's not coming 'til 2 days later...).

*bounces several times* If you get tickets for Seven Nations, me too me too! And Natalie MacMaster; anybody who plays fiddle that well while step-dancing must be admired. :) Have I heard Old Blind Dogs before?
