Bush press secretary quits, Rove ends policy role - Yahoo! News:

Administration officials said Rove would give up his policy development duties in order to focus more on political affairs.

Well, the cynic in me certainly thinks this is meaningless because 1) politics is the only policy Rove knows, and 2) Junior is Rove's biggest success story and (supposedly) closest friend so he'll still be advising Bush in exactly the way he always has no matter what any official title is.  If he's going to to be in the field pushing for retaining Republican control of Congress, then his biggest push is going to be the reunification of aims among the two branches (which likely will be focusing on increasing their collective control over the 3rd branch that is the only force beyond the election that can stop them - even if its just in public impressions rather than reality).

I hate being a realist.
