you'd think that having halfway decent skiers and such an incredible worship of guns, that this country would be better at the biathalon.

unless of course, Sean Connery's character in League of Extraordinary Gentlemen was right: shooting like an American means throwing enough bullets at the problem and hoping it goes away...

Of course it does! That's EXACTLY how we Americans treat the use of firearms--and just about any other conflict for that matter. Think about it. Precision is not our strong suit as a people, alas.
