Because you forgot where your towel is. ;> Part of it is that there has been very little announcement by the media. e.g. Ads. I'm picking it up after work, tho. *g*
however, i acknowledged up front before i got there that things were different, and let go expectations that the script would be the same script we'd seen/heard/read 5 times up to that point (radio, record, radio-show-scripts, tv, novel). as with the way things were different in the infocom game, things are different here.
most of what's different is, in fact, from DNA's original ideas and scripts, not that of the scriptwriter who came in to tighten it as production started. unfortunately, i can't / won't get into details without spoiling things as such. devil's in the details and all that.
serve yourself well -- go rent it from blockbuster or netflix or whatever and decide if its worth the purchase or not.
I too enjoyed it. Certainly there were some differences between all the forms of the story, but they were differences that Adams put in -- he was an author that knew that not all media were created equal, and he rewrote the story for each.
I have complaints about some of the changes, but I enjoyed it. (I am buying after all. ;> ) I second Joe's suggestion: Go rent and decide for yourself.
Easy... because they changed the date at least once, according to what Suncoast had info on this summer. In fact, I *specifically* checked their list again a couple weeks ago, and it wasn't on it.
Was wondering if it'd already come out, but figured I couldn't *possibly* have missed it, all folks considered. Now I know.
