However, I do think that if one took the 2 films, edited them to only show the scenes that actually take place inside the matrix itself, plus a few key sequences of setup, one could get a single film that would have been a much better sequel than the two separate films ended up.
something about the zion stuff...you really don't care about them or what happens to them...neo v. smith, on the other hand, is much more enticing due to hugo's over the top approach to the role.
of course, had the third film been the major success it was supposed to have been, there very likely would have been a 4th film, dealing with the attempt by The Frenchman to restore the empire he had previous to Smith's demise.
i *really* would like to have seen how Smith finally took over The Frenchman, or if he escaped through his train tunnels...
