We have scanner!

with special thank to whomever (i forget these things 'cause i'm an idiot) gave up the thing (a SCSI Microtek Scanmaker E6) back when we were helping 3ravensringo on the eastern shore a few months back. I finally got my Linux box working and upgraded to RH9 and once I got the right cable from my office (they had plenty leftover from the early 90s), it worked first time. :)

Friendship Friday Five

1. Do you remember your first best friend? Who was it?
Rodney Tinsley, now just "Rod".

2. Are you still in touch with this person?
After not seeing him since moving out of Florida in '84, he called me up in January of '95. We briefly hung out one last time @ EveCon in 1995, haven't heard from him since. Things change, people move on.

3. Do you have a current close friend?
Two. One's been my closest friend since '84. The other I married.

4. How did you become friends with this person?
In both cases, I simply was myself. At all times...and they accepted that for what it was.

5. Is there a friend from your past that you wish you were still in contact with? Why?
A girl I had a crush on in 8th grade (though we were good friends in spite of that ;-)). Why? just a sense of closure. I moved out of Florida without the ability to give some people proper farewells.
