1. Of all the bands/artists in your CD/record collection, which one do you own the most albums by?
Marillion, Fairport Convention, or King Crimson are all in there at the above 40 range.  Marillion probably edges the others out by a little bit.

2. What was the last song you listened to (voluntarily)?
Hotel Hobbies (Marillion), Live at Loreley, just before meetings had me turn my player off for the last 4 hours.

3. What's in your CD player right now?
(dvd, actually) Marillion -- Marbles on the Road disc 1.  I haven't had the chance to hit play since I put it in there..

4. What song would you say sums you up [attach lyrics to bottom]:
not bothering.  I consider myself too multi-facetted and complex for any one lyric to encapsulate.

5. What's your favorite local band?
don't have one

6. What was the last show you attended?
(that I wasn't actually *in*?) Fairport Convention, October 10th, Birchmere.  before that: Marillion Oct 7th, 9:30 club

7. What was the greatest show you've ever been to?
Roger Waters KAOS tour, Cap Centre, Aug 1987.  Second: Steve Hackett @ the Birchmere, 2002

8. What's the shittiest band you've ever seen in concert?
i'm particular about who I see, so this rarely happens outside of opening acts I don't consider actually seeing.  Worst concert experience was Pink Floyd @ RFK 1988, as I've discussed on LJ before.

9. What band do you love musically but hate the members of?
Metalica.  The drummer's a complete asshole.

10. What's the most musically involved you have been?
Cat & Fiddle Morris today; church choir shows in my high school and immediate post-college days.  time commitment is about the same.

11. What show are you looking forward to?
nothing planned now, though we might see Wicked in February

12. What is your favorite band t-shirt?
that wasn't stolen from me?  tie between Marillion Marbles 2004 and Steve Hackett Darktown 2002.  I really miss my Radio KAOS baseball jersey a lot.

13. What musician would you like to hang out with for a day?
Pub hopping with Fairport Convention would be cool, but I know most pro musicians are actually rather boring in their day-to-day lives away from the stage.

14. What musician would you like to hump for a day?
not going there

15. Metal question-jeans and Leather vs. Cracker Jack clothes?
jeans.

16. Sabbath or solo Ozzy?
no preference.  neither show up on my personal playlist.  Ozzy if at a retro 80s party, Sab if at a non-themed one.

17. Commodores or solo Lionel Ritchie?
Commodores. but personally, I'd never actually put either of them on my turntable.

18. Blackjack or solo Michael Bolton?
could care less. they both suck.

19. Does Primus suck?
no.  great for certain types of parties that I never go to.

20. Name 3 flawless albums:
The Beatles: Rubber Soul
Pink Floyd: Dark Side of the Moon
King Crimson: Discipline
(not counting classical, in which case I would put Stravinski's Rite of Spring in there)

21. Did you know that filling out this survey makes you a music geek?
define duh.

22. What was the greatest decade for music?
1961-1970: The Beatles.  Period. There simply is no further discussion on this.  The only other musicians who so changed the world that came after them were Bach and Beethovan.

23. How many music related videos/DVDs do you own?
beyond counting.

24. Do you like Journey?
to quote dawny: yes. not in large quantities 24/7, but they're alright.

25. Don't try to pretend you don't!
to quote dawny: i didn't!

26. What is your favorite movie soundtrack?
Blade Runner, though a single-disc compilation of my favorite tracks from the three LOTR movies would beat it.

27. What was your last musical "phase" before you wisened up?
mid 80s pop.  late 80s (87 onward) sucked and I switched to AOR and Classic Rock

28. What music is your "guilty pleasure" that you don't often admit to liking?
nothing makes me feel "guilty" - i proudly admit who and what i like.

29. What album have you purchased the most copies of in your lifetime?
Tie: Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bells (3 -- original, "boxed" compilation, 12" picture disc), Asia's Asia and Alpha (LP, Cassette, CD).  Damn, I was hoping I'd be able to avoid mentioning Oldfield on this, but I can't...

30. Who is your favorite musician and why?
Cycles around in my head a lot, but the ones that keep coming up are Mike Oldfield, Steve Hackett, Marillion, Fairport Convention, King Crimson, and Yes.
