Humor in the White House...

...is something I really miss.  Bush just isn't funny (neither was his father), and his lame attempts at humor only show just how shallow he is.

We really need this guy in the White House in a major way, now more than ever...

I'd almost forgotten about Pat Paulsen. He was in one of my favorite "Get Smart!" episodes from it's last season - "The Mess of Adrian Listenger". Of course, Pat played Adrian Listenger. I also remember him from the old Smothers Brothers show. You may have heard about it...the one CBS censored by canceling it. It was just a bit too political in those days. And, of course it supported every bid for the presidency by Pat Paulsen!

I think my favorite part of the website that you linked to was the Coincidence? page. A great parody of a long-standing comparison of Lincoln & Kennedy.

The Smothers Brothers show was on E! for a while, and that's how I first got (re)-introduced to the Pat Paulsen for President campaign (I saw them in reruns as a kid, but certainly was too young to get the jokes back then). The Editorials are all from that show, and the Censorship one is the best of the lot.

Absolutely...this is one of the reasons I would vote for Bill Cosby if he ran (that, and the man is just very sharp and wise as well as funny).

And, I think the little "exit" skit Bill Clinton put on redeemed some of his earlier stupidity for me.

I think it should be a requirement that anyone taking that job should be able to take a poke at themselves in fun.
