Every so often, you just have to remind yourself that some albums were just too fantastic for their own good.

Today's re-awakening: The Cure's Disintegration (and its matching EP of remixes).

Used to own that one, before it was stolen. Never did care that much for it. I have 'Kiss Me, Kiss, Me, Kiss Me', and love 98% of that one, but just never really could get into 'Disintegration'. Maybe I just haven't heard it in a while. May have to borrow a copy or something. Or just get someone to burn me an MP3 copy. Hint, hint. Oh, no, wait. That would be illegal. Nevermind.

actually, i was listening to a borrowed copy, trying to decide if i should budget in to get the new remaster or not (i will, but not right away; wait 'til faire paychecks roll in).

i can see what you mean, though. The songs on "Kiss Me ^ 3" are better, especially to "old-school" cure followers. However, I really like the production values on Dis, which is why it has my preference.

Kinda like Rush -- every album they do is better produced than the previous (Signals being the oddball exception), but usually the songs on the previous album are better on average.
