What, me and my eclectic tastes not get involved in this?

Survey: What song...

Reminds you of an ex-lover: Any late-80s glam metal (Europe, Crue, Poison). My ex- loved the stuff and I tired of it quickly. At least it was more melodic than rap, though.

Reminds you of an ex-friend: as with others, not so much ex- friend, but friend i don't keep in touch with nearly often enough : Genesis's "Trick of the Tail". Basil (not his real name) was one of the first to show me that I had horns and a tail.

Makes you cry: Take Away My Pain, Dream Theater (Live in Paris version) -- was my personal-therapy song in mourning of my grandmother. The sax solo (not in the original studio version) just throws me over the top every time...

Makes you laugh: Most Weird Al, but All About The Pentiums and Jerry Springer (parody of One Week) particularly.

Makes you smile: lots of stuff, but the most fun is watching someone elses brain go "holy sh*t" when I play King Crimson's Discipline for them...right about 1:52 into it...

You never want to hear again: Sinead o'Conor, "Nothing Compares 2U"
(just like Dawntreader -- just got completely and utterly revoltingly sick
of it beyond measure -- i felt nausious just reading the title again...)

Sums up your teenage years: Mike Oldfield's Platinum (live from Complete LP version) and Asia's Only Time Will Tell.

You want to get married to: Well, our song was David Bowie's "As the World Falls Down", from the Labyrinth soundtrack. Frankie's "The Power of Love" was a close (real close) second.

You like to wake up to: day to day musical tastes vary too much to specify. Usually I want silence in the morning to let the right song/group for the morning find me.

You like out of your parents record collection: About half of my stuff is out of my parent's collection. There's very little of my dad's stuff that I don't like.

You love that you know about thanks to a friend: Lots of stuff (within the prog genre, most of what we learn about is through word of mouth), but particularly Pendragon's The Voyager, The Flower King's Garden of Dreams, anything from Marillion (though the Clutching At Straws album came first).

You love the video more than the tune: Weird Al's Eat It.

Reminds you of your first crush: Oh Sherry, by Steve Perry...though her name was Jenni, but a Sherry was her best friend at the time. Moving away the area she lived in at the time made Journey's "Send Her My Love" a close-second anthem, but I got passed that one (Most of the Frontiers album now makes me think of Robotech. go fig).

Reminds you of your now crush: no one particular song -- she's too big in my life to be so limited by only one song.

Makes you think of sex: Tusk, Fleetwood Mac

Guilty Pleasure: ABBA. Duh... actually, A-Ha as well, but that's 'cause most people haven't heard their later, considerably more mature, works. Yes, they're still together.

Perks you up: varies depending on the mood and the reason for the downness. Most of Mike Oldfield's work will do it, as will most celtic/celtic-rock.
