Denver sucks as much as Chicago
May. 30th, 2004 12:47 pmso arrive @ Denver @ 10:10 only to find that just like Chicago, they close the flogging bars @ 10:00 on the f'in' dot.
not only that, but they close EVERYTHING ELSE TOO!!!
nothing is open inside the secure area AT ALL. no coffee, no mc'd's, no convenience newstand to get a water bottle, NOTHING. (heck, even the quiznos that says it closes @ 11 is closed).
the only way is to leave the secure wing where 2 things are open, likely with annoying lines, and with all the inonvenience of having to go through the security thing all over again, which i'm really not in the mood to do...
on the good news front, cyd's missing merc pin got recovered...most other bits of bad news also got balanced by good, so one cant complain *too* much i guess...

and your inconvenience was no convenience...
Date: 2004-06-02 10:53 am (UTC)Ours was 25 minutes late out of ONT (it was late getting to Denver and thus late leaving Denver). So our 50 minute gap between planes was getting smaller. We had 30 minutes when the plane touched down. By time the train got to the station and we got to the next terminal they were annoucing Final Boarding and 2 minutes till the doors closed. R RAN RAN RAN! I slogged behind and tried not to be sick. He got his boarding pass clocked in and panted "one more" so they had him in the system. We both spent the first hour on the Denver to BWI panting and gasping. So I think we'll trade ya guys!
And R has Cyd's pin. Kelly and Rowena delivered on Monday night to us in the jacuzzi. It's safe!

Date: 2004-06-02 11:34 am (UTC)Oh yes, I've done the "OMG, we've got NO time between planes!" before... in SFO, where we came in on one wing of the airport, and had to sprint to the end of the other wing... with only fifteen minutes to spare between flights!
We made it. Our luggage didn't. *sigh* Had to wait until the next day to get mine...
Yeah, United gave us free upgrades on the way back, plus another set of free tickets... Because they did EVERYTHING wrong with respect to lost luggage...
Sorry you had to run! Thanks for getting my pin! I thought it was a goner! :)
We can get it when you guys come up for Potomac, I think... :)
the beginning of the end, apparently
